Hi, I'm Shi, founder of Event Planner Shi.

Growing up in multicultural Malaysia, I was surrounded by different languages, traditions, and cultures. As a Malaysian Chinese, I learned early on that some of life's most meaningful moments happen when different worlds come together. Today, that belief inspires my passion for designing intercultural weddings where every tradition is honored, every family feels included, and every celebration reflects the unique story of the couple.

Wedding planning is deeply personal to me.

When I was 15, both of my parents left, and I unexpectedly became the primary caregiver for my three younger siblings. Home was no longer a place that felt whole. Perhaps that's why creating weddings feels so meaningful to me. Every celebration is an opportunity to help build the sense of family, belonging, and love that I know can transform lives. Designing weddings has become one of the most healing and joyful parts of my own journey.

For more than 12 years, I've had the privilege of designing weddings, conferences, nonprofit fundraisers, corporate events, TEDx experiences, and community celebrations. Every event is different, but my approach remains the same: listen deeply, design intentionally, and create experiences where people feel genuinely connected.

Whether I'm helping two families celebrate the beginning of a marriage, producing a conference that inspires hundreds of attendees, or bringing a community together around a shared purpose, I believe the most meaningful events are the ones that reflect the people behind them. My role is to transform ideas into experiences that leave people feeling seen, welcomed, and inspired.
